When & where do you walk?

We walk every single week in downtown Austin on Wednesday at 6:30pm.

Our walks begin at Manana Coffee – 111 Sandra Muraida Way.

There are multiple Manana Coffee locations in town – be careful not to go to the wrong one!

Once you park & arrive, we meet outside on the right side of the building. (If you are facing the front doors to the shop)

Try to arrive early – 6:30 is peak traffic time.

Who can come to these walks?

Our walks are a celebration of femininity. A safe place to connect with others & move your body. If that sounds aligned for you, you are invited! All ages 18-80+ welcome.

We strongly encourage the older & wiser to attend! We believe mingling all ages creates space for mentorship & the powerful sharing of intergenerational wisdom.

Where do I park?

We recommend:

Seaholm Garage – Free with validation. On the first floor of the garage near the sliding doors that take you upstairs to Trader Joes – there is a Kiosk to validate your parking. You can also validate in any of the businesses upstairs (such as Trader Joes)

Whole Foods – Free customer parking. This is about a 10 minute walk to our meeting spot. We recommend walking along Bowie Street, 3rd Street, Water Seaholm Drive, then Electric Drive to get to the meeting spot at Manana.

Metered street parking – rates vary

Please do not park in the electric car charging spots.

What if I am late?

We gather at 6:30pm but we do not start walking until between 6:45-6:50. You probably won’t miss us if you are only a few minutes behind. If you get to the meeting spot & we have already left, you can probably catch up. We take our group photo on the pedestrian bridge, start walking up the bridge & you should find us!

Do I need to RSVP ? What do I need to bring?

Yes, RSVP is required.

Bring yourself just as you are, wear good walking shoes, water and an open mind. ♥️

Can I come alone?

Yes most people come alone! (& leave with new connections)

However, bringing a friend is also okay!

Can I bring my dog? What about a stroller?

Dogs & strollers are welcome.

Dogs – Please use your best judgement when bringing your dog especially during hotter months as the pavement gets very hot. FYI – During the walk we do pass an off-leash dog area that is not fenced in.

Strollers – The trail is stroller friendly. Stairways & bridges have access ramps. It helps us if you remind a walk leader when you arrive to point out where the ramps are for you!

Do you cancel for rain?

Nope – we walk rain or shine! You are always responsible for your own safety. Make your decision to attend accordingly.

We will continue to walk in rain, snow, wind, and heat. We don’t walk in tornadoes, active lightning, or ice. You will see updates for questionable days on Instagram.

In general – you can always count on us walking despite rain in the forecast.

How long is the walk?

The walk is ~2 miles.

Depending on the time of year, our route adjusts minimally. Our meeting spot remains the same.

March – November we walk up the pedestrian bridge, along the trail, across 1st street bridge, back along the water/trail. Up the stairs/ramps under pedestrian bridge & back to our meeting spot.

November – March – we walk up the pedestrian bridge, on the well-lit sidewalk along W Riverside Rd, across 1st street bridge, cross Cesar Chavez into downtown, walk along 2nd street, behind the library, through Seaholm, & back to our meeting spot.

How fast do you walk?

Conversation pace. Naturally we always have faster walkers & slower walkers. When gaps form as we walk, we will pause the front of the group to allow for the rest to catch up.

Where can I learn more about the trail?

We walk on the Ann & Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail which is maintained by The Trail Conservancy. If you would like to learn more – head to their website here.

Can kids come?

Our walks are organized for adults (18+), since the conversations and pacing tend to be geared toward that age group. That said, it’s a public trail – so while we can’t restrict anyone from joining, it’s not common for kids to attend.
